Bangsaen Beach is set to host the newest IRONMAN 70.3 event in South East Asia.

About Bangsaen Beach, Thailand

Bangsaen is a famous town in Thailand situated approximately 75km southeast of Bangkok and 60km from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport. It is the closest pleasant beach getaway spot from Bangkok.

The beach stretches approximately 2.5km long and has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand. In recent years, Bangsaen still attracts a large number of travelers especially on weekends and national holidays benefiting from the easy accessibility from Bangkok.

The beach attracts those who enjoy strolling along the long sandy beach and tasting the delicious seafood available from vendors along the beach walk. The smooth texture of the sand and the gradual slope makes it nice and safe for swimming.

The Event Experience

In the past 3 years, Bangsaen has become the home of the biggest triathlon event in Thailand. Managed by Thailand Tri-League, it has attracted more than 2,000 triathlon competitors, 3,000 multi sports competitors and over 10,000 participants across the whole festival.

In 2019, The event will be lifted to the world standard of IRONMAN® - TOYOTA IRONMAN 70.3 Bangsaen Presented by MAMA will held for the first time on 24 February 2019 by leading local triathlon promoter, Thailand Tri-league.

The 1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21.1km run will be held on a unique course with memorable scenery.

There are 28 general age group qualifying slots, and 2 special qualifying slots for the fastest Thai male and fastest Thai female to the 2019 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France
